JC de Castelbajac
L'Exception is very pleased to welcome Jean-Charles de Castelbajac among its designers. A descendant of an aristocratic family of south-west France, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac founded in 1969 the company Ko & Co in collaboration with his mother. His first show the same year surprised by the misuse of mops, sponges or oilcloth. Famous designers will work for the family business such as Kenzo and Chantal Thomas. He decided to take his independence and set up his own clothing brand in 1978, combining his three passions: art, fashion and music.
In the 80s and 90s, he attracted a clientele in search of novelties, with iconic pieces such as paintings or graffiti dresses or oversized clothes. Years after years, memories of his childhood and the animated characters from that time became his first source of inspiration. He offers on L'Exception two distinct collections : Jean Charles de Castelbaljac is his couture collection, while JCDC is a younger and more accessible line.
